A typical rafter consists of built-up members fabricated by welding together three hot rolled plates of equal or varying thickness to form an I-section. These high-strength plates are made of premium-grade steel, conforming to ASTM A572M Grade 345 Type 1, offering a minimum yield strength of 345 N/mm² or equivalent.
